Jagannath (जगन्नाथ) means Lord of the Universe. The word 'Jagannath' is a combination of two words 'Jagat' and 'Natha'. 'Jagat' means 'The Universe/World' and 'Natha' means 'Lord/Master'. In Sanskrit 'Ja' represents Jagannath, 'Ga' represents Balabhadra, 'Na' represents Subhadra and 'Tha' represents Sudarsan. So Jagannath represents the union of all four deities. He is a form of Vishnu, hence is closely associated with Lord Krishna, who is present with his brother “Baladeva” and Sister “Subadra”
Baladeva ( Balrama/ बलराम) is a god and the elder brother of Krishna. Lord Baladeva gives spiritual strength and pleasure to the devotees. Subhadra is worshiped as Goddess Yogmaya. In the epic, she is the sister of Jagannath (Krishna) and Balarama, wife of Arjuna and mother of Abhimanyu and grandmother of Parikshit. She is the daughter of Vasudeva and Rohini Devi. Subhadra is known as Veera sodari (brave sister), Veera Patni (brave wife) and Veera matha (brave mother) due to her relationship with Krishna, Arjuna, and Abhimanyu respectively.
